Fair Trading Terms

Upcott Squire Devon Holidays.

  1. Bookings can be regarded as accepted only when written confirmation has been issued of receipt of the initial payment. If the accommodation  should suddenly become unavailable, every effort will be made to rearrange the holiday date will be made. However, Upcott Squire Devon Holidays accepts no liability beyond issuing a full refund if this should not prove possible. 

  2. Pet owners must contact the property owner prior to booking a Cottage. The accepting of dogs at Upcott Squire Devon Holidays cottages is at the property owners discretion. 

  3. When the booking has been confirmed, the hirer is liable for the total holiday cost, with any balance being due at least 45 days before the holiday start date. 

  4. Parties which do not comprise of a couple over 25 or of a party not made of a family group,

  5. please notify Upcott Squire Devon Holidays of this when making the booking and a security deposit of £35.00 per person may be required in addition to the initial payment. 

  6. The hirer is responsible for the cost of any breakages, damage or additional cleaning required to the property. Such matters must be reported to Upcott Squire Devon Holidays and make reimbursement for the items or additional cleaning prior to their departure. 

  7. Parties including people with mental, physical or medical conditions must specify these conditions when booking as they may affect the suitability of the property for their holiday. 

  8. Upcott Squire Devon Holidays or Mr. P. Blight  accept liabilty for loss or injuries sustained in the holiday annex or in the grounds of Upcott Squire. 

  9. An additional charge of £10.00 covering administration costs may be made if an overdue balance remainder has to be issued and the balance not returned within one week of the posting date of the letter.  Should payment not be  recieved by return of post the initial payment may be forfeited and the holiday offered for resale. The hirer is liable for the balance of the holiday cost if a resale is not made. 

  10. Minor booking alterations such as reduction/ changes in people or pets should be  given to the property owner at least three days before the due date of the holiday.   Any such change may not be subject to a refund. 

  11. If any payments are not honoured or immediately resolved this may result in the holiday being offered for resale, any initial payment being forfeited and liability for the total cost of the holiday if a resale is not effected. 

  12. If any change in the holiday date is requested. Upcott Squire Devon Holidays will try to accommodate this. However, if this is not possible,  the normal standard  penalties will apply.
