Haiku Seasons

A Book for All Seasons.
This book is an omnibus of my haiku books collected together in one book of the seasons. Haiku Seasons explores the fascinating changes that occur in nature and wildlife in the beautiful Devon countryside throughout the year.
In Haiku Seasons there is one haiku for each day of the year. The collection can either be read as a poetry collection or can be used as a daily meditation where one haiku is read each day.

Haiku Seasons

after the night storm
collage of ripped leaf and twig
lies beneath my feet

a patchwork of sky
greying clouds sewn together
with seams of sunlight

windblown colours fly
grey shades sway along my path
cow parsley shadows

puffy white cloudling
watches me through closed window
writing cloud haiku

waking this morning
the sky wears a silken scarf
a grey raindrop print

'One of the great pleasures of this collection is Reed’s range. While many haiku are calm and reflective, others are lightly humorous or playfully abstract, offering fascinating surprises along the way. She notices everything: a shift in the weather, a slight movement in a garden, light changing across a familiar scene. Nothing is decorative; everything is alive, meaningful, and often unexpected.
Reed writes with the confidence of a poet who has mastered her craft. She has honed her haiku through years of practice. Her work has been recognised in competitions and literary prizes. This experience shines through in her effortless control of rhythm, imagery, and subtle humour. Every word is carefully chosen, so the reader can enjoy the moment without being told what to think.' ‘P.J. Reed’s ‘Haiku Seasons’ is a soul-enhancing
collection that distils the fleeting magic of nature
into precise, evocative verse. Primarily inspired by
the Devon countryside, Reed captures the heart of
each season with “tender precision,” offering
readers a daily dose of sunshine and reflection that
can brighten even the darkest days.’ G.
